Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move exposed person to fresh air; in case of indisposition

seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water; if irritation occurs, seek

medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment; in case of indisposition seek medical

advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, foam

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon-, nitrogen- and

sulfuroxides as well as hydrogen fluoride

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self contained breathing apparatus

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid skin and eye contact. Do not inhale dust. Wear

appropriate personal protective equipment (see "handling").

Solids: sweep up avoiding dust formation (wet powders with

water or use an approved industrial vacuum cleaner) and

place in suitable containers for disposal.

Liquids: absorb using an adequate absorbent (such as

kieselgur, sand, saw dust), collect and place in suitable

containers (labelled according to TRGS 201) for disposal.

Dispose of waste material in authorized incineration

facilities.

Handling and storage

nahmen sollten geschlossene bzw. zumindest staubdichte

Vorrichtungen verwendet werden.

Beim Umgang in offenen Systemen sollte möglicher Staub

unmittelbar am Entstehungsort abgesaugt werden.

Wenn technische Absaug-oder Lüftungsmaßnahmen nicht möglich

oder unzureichend sind, sollte Atemschutz (z.B. Staubmaske

mit Partikelfilter) getragen werden.

Zur Vermeidung von Hautkontakt sollten geprüfte Schutzhand-

schuhe (z.B. aus PVC oder Nitrilkautschuk) und geeignete

Schutzkleidung (z.B. normale Arbeitskleidung) getragen

werden.

Ein sicherer Augenschutz (z.B. Korbbrille) ist unbedingt

erforderlich.

In unmittelbarer Nähe des Arbeitsbereiches sollten Augen-

brausen bereitgestellt und ihr Standort auffällig gekenn-

zeichnet werden.

Bei möglicher Staubentwicklung sollten wegen der poten-

tiellen Staubexplosionsgefahr potentielle Zündquellen

aus dem Arbeitsbereich entfernt werden. Des weiteren

sollten Maßnahmen gegen elektrostatische Aufladungen

getroffen werden.

"ENGLISH"

All work processes must always be designed so that the

exposure through inhalation of the substance is as low as

possible and eye contact is excluded.

Closed or at least dustproof equipment should be used during

filling, transfer, metered feeding and sampling.

In the case of handling in open systems, any dust which may

form should be extracted directly at the point of origin.

If technical extraction or ventilation measures are not

possible or are insufficient, respiratory protection (e.g.

dust mask with particle filter) should be worn.

In order to avoid skin contact, protective gloves (e.g. made

of PVC or nitrile rubber) and suitable protective clothing

(e.g. normal working clothes) should be worn.

Safe eye protection (e.g. tightly fitting goggles) is

absolutely essential.

Eye douches should be made available in the immediate

vicinity of the working area and their location labelled

conspicuously.

Due to the potential dust-explosion risk, any dust that may

form should be removed from the working area. In addition,

measures should be taken to prevent static discharge.

Storage: The substance should be stored in well sealed, labelled

according to the regulations and secure containers in

adequate rooms at room temperature. The containers should be

secured against falling down. Avoid residues outside the

containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Adequate plastic containers: Big-Bags (ca 500 kg)

cardboard folding box with PE inliners: 15-30 kg

(Wellpappfaltkiste mit PE Inliner)

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Not known

Chemical reaction with water: No reaction with water

Dust explosion: Not to be expected if handled under good industrial hygiene

practices.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Normal application results in the consumption of ca. 95 %

by irreversible binding to the cellulose or cotton fibers;

recovery or recycling of the remaining test substance is

not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No suitable method known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not suitable for deposit in landfill site.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration with flue gas scrubbing.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Removal by controlled discharge to a waste water treatment

plant. It is estimated that approx. 5 % of the total

quantity used is discharged into internal industrial

effluents as highly diluted solution. A purification of

the waste water in a waste water treatment plant is

recommended. The dyestuff should be used in a well

equiped dyehouse.

If necessary the waste water can be purified prior to the

waste water treatment by membrane filtration or by

floculation with cationic agents or by treatment with ozone.

The most effective method is the membrane filtration: more

than 99 % of the remaining dyestuff can be removed from the

waste water.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable
