In a ready biodegradation test conducted in Japan the test item achieved 97% biodegradation after 28 days based on test material analyses and 73% biodegradation after 28 days based on oxygen consumption.

In an OECD 301B ready biodegradation test conducted in China the test item achieved 57% biodegradation after 28 days.

In an OECD 302C inherent biodegradation test conducted in China the test item achieved 90% biodegradation after 28 days.

In an OECD 301B ready biodegradation test conducted in the UK the test item exhibited 3% biodegradation after 28 days, however this study is deemed unreliable due to confounding by the use of silica gel. Evidence indicates that the test item was strongly adsorbed onto silica gel resulting in significantly reduced bioavailability and biodegradation potential. ECHA (2008) guidance on interpretation of multiple biodegradation studies that “consistent positive test results from tests should generally supersede negative test results”. There is significant primary and alternative experimental evidence indicating this test item biodegrades.
