Description of key information

The study to determine surface tension does not need to be conducted because based on structure, surface activity is not expected or cannot be predicted; The substance is a symetric diiodide with limited polarity due to symetric structure. Surface activity is not a desired property of the material. In one published literature found, surface tension has been measured at different temperatures and was reported as γ20: 47.86 mN/m; γ40: 45.50 mN/m; γ60: 43.10 mN/m; γ85: 40.10 mN/m, but no concentration was given. As 1,3-diiodopropane is insoluble in water, it is assumed that staurated solutions were measured.
