Description of key information

MTDID 44430 is not stable in aqueous solution.

Additional information

In the abiotic control of the inherent biodegradation test, MTDID 44430 could not be detected after 28 days. In a hydrolysis test (OECD 111), MTDID 44430 concentrations rapidly declined throughout the test period. However, a mass balance could not be determined during this study. Expected hydrolysis products are secondary alcohols and acrylic acid. The amount of secondary alcohols detected during the hydrolysis study were a small percentage of the starting material on a molar basis. No other hydrolysis products were selected for analysis. It may be speculated that MTDID 44430 forms complexes with divalent cations. However, the precise nature of the loss of MTDID 44430 from aqueous solution is not entirely characterized. No information was available on phototransformation of MTDID 44430. However, limited volatility indicates that phototransformation in the atmosphere is not likely to contribute to the fate of MTDID 44430 in the environment.
