Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

To assess the ecotoxicity of Alkyl phosphate and stearyl amine salts (EC = 952-252-4) on terrestrial organisms, it is of importance to consider the most conservative reliable values found for each endpoint. Within a worst case approach, the environmental fate (e-fate) and ecotoxicity of the Alkyl phosphate and stearyl amine salts (EC = 952-252-4) was mainly considered as driven by the properties of the alkylammonium part.

Terrestrial toxicity data on earthworms and toxicity to terrestrial plants are available for equivalent chain length alkylamine and it is appropriate to use these data by a read-across approach for the registered substance. The lowest value observed on terrestrial micro-organisms is observed for Phosphoric acid, octadecyl ester.

Additional information

Toxicity to soil macro organisms

OECD 222 : NOEC of 540 mg/kg soil (calculated eq. Mass of the salt EC = 952-252-4)

Toxicity to terrestrial plants

OECD 208 : NOEC of > 266 mg/kg dw soil (calculated eq. Mass of the salt EC = 952-252-4)

Toxicity to soil micro organisms

OECD 216 : NOEC of 496 mg/kg (calculated eq. Mass of the salt EC = 952-252-4)

PNEC soil is calculated on the basis of the lowest determined effect concentration considering a security factor of 50.
