Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
estimation method (solubility ratio)
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
> 6.9
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
6.28

The preliminary test at room temperature showed that the octanol solubility of the test item was > 4258 g/L. With the value of the water solubility estimated in study CSL-20-0078.04 (< 0.55 mg/L) and the estimated solubility in octanol from this preliminary test, the partition coefficient Pow can be calculated to be > 6.9. For this range of the partition coefficient the slow stirring method would be the suitable method for the determination. Due to the extremely low water solubility and the low UV-activity of the test item, analytics by the means of HPLC could not be carried out and the test was terminated after the preliminary test.

Conclusions:
The log Pow was determined based on the solubility of the test item in water and n-octanol to be > 6.9.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008, Method A.8 and OECD Guideline 107.During the development of an analytical method the test item showed no UV-activity. Therefore, the log Pow was estimated based on the solubility in water and n-octanol.The log Pow was estimated to be > 6.9.

Description of key information
