Description of key information

Dissociation constants in water: pKa1= 3.82 and pKa2= 6.85 at 20 deg C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

pKa at 20°C:
3.82

Additional information

The dissociation constants in water have been determined in accordance with OECD test methods.

3-methylcyclohex-4-ene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid (3-MTHPAc D4) was found to have the following dissociation constants at 20 ± 1 °C: pKa1=3.82 and pKa2=6.85.

The species distribution generated by the dissociation of this acid was determined, according to these constants, as function of pH.
