Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Appearance:

Based on the data available from reliable sources like handbook, the appearance of test chemical was observed to be organic yellow needles.

Melting point:

Based on the data available from reliable source like handbook, melting point of test chemical was determined to be 325°C.

Boiling point:

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which melts above 300°C.

Density:

Based on the data available from reliable sources like handbook, the density of the test substance was determined to be 1.4446 g/cm3 at 25°C.

Particle size distribution:

The particle size distribution of test substance was determined by Granulometric analysis with Rotap sieve shaker. The particle size distribution was found to be in the range of 1 micron to 54 micron.

Vapour pressure:

Based on the data available from secondary source, vapour pressure of test chemical was determined to be  < 130 Pa at 25 °C.

Partition coefficient:

Based on the data available from secondary source, partition coefficient (log Pow) of test chemical was determined to be -1.7.

Water solubility:

Based on the data available from secondary database, water solubility of tes chemical was determined to be  32 mg/L at 25 °C .

Surface tension:

The study does not need to be conducted because surface activity is not a desired property of the material

Flash point:

The study does not need to be conducted because the flash point is only relevant to liquids and low melting point solids

Autoflammability:

Test chemical ignites only when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of 950°C is brought in contact with it.Thus it can be concluded that substance is flammable only at high temperature of about 950°C.

Flammability:

Test chemical does not indicate any ignition when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of approximately 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that Test chemical is not flammable at high temperature. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, thus Test chemical was considered non-flammable.

Explosiveness:

The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Oxidising properties:

The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
