Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide

Product arising from burning: Oxides of Nitrogen, Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear full breathing apparatus

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Local Spillage:

Wear laboratory coat, eye protection, rubber gloves and if
the spillage occurs outside a fume cupboard, a dust
respirator to P3 protection. Collect up the solid carefully
and transfer to a sealed container. Wipe up any powder left
with a damp cloth and place in container for disposal

Wear an air suit, rubber gloves and wellington boots.
Carefully collect up the solid and transfer to a sealed
container. Wipe up any powder left with a damp cloth and
place in a container for disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with eyes skin and clothing

Protective rubber gloves (14 inch PVC guantlets BS EN374.1),
paper suits and safety goggles (BS 2092.2.I.C grade 2 impact
resistant and chemical splash resistant) should be worn.
Where dust generation cannot be avoided, provide and use
local exhaust ventilation. Where local exhaust ventilation
is impraticable, wear an approved air-fed visor (TM 14/7.25)
or half air suit (prEN 943 or TM 14/7.27)

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: In normal use as a synthetic intermediate, no recycling of
the substance is possible as it is completely converted
during the production process. Spilled material should be
collected and disposed of by incineration

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is the preferred method of disposal. Waste gas
scrubbing to remove hydrogen fluoride and oxides of nitrogen
should be fitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not suitable

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, the substance will not enter the public
domain.
