The D10, D50, and D90 value was determine by applying a linear equation on the two points closest to the 10 %, 50 %, or 90 % mark on the cumulative distribution. The equation was solved for the corresponding value.

The median particle size of the test item was determined by laser diffraction measurement to be D50 = 1131 µm.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 110 and CIPAC MT 59 in order to determine the particle size distribution of the test item. The particle size distribution was determined using sieves with different mesh sizes. The sieves were stacked in order of aperture size with the largest at the top and the receiver pan at the bottom. The test item was filled into the sieve with the largest size. The tower was than shaken using a sifting machine for 5 minutes with an amplitude of 100 %. The residue on each sieve was then weighed. The D10, D50, and D90 value was determined by applying a linear equation on the two points closest to the 10 %, 50 %, or 90 % mark on the cumulative distribution. The median particle size D50 of test item was determined to be 1131 μm.
