Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Test item runs:

The Melting Point DSC runs were carried out, in duplicate, on approx. 4 to 5 mg portions of the test item, in 50 µL aluminium crucibles. The crucibles were sealed with crimped lids. The samples were cooled to - 50 °C and then heated to +30 °C at 10 °C per minute in a test chamber of nitrogen at a purge rate of approximately 20 mL/minutes.

The following results were obtained:

a) < - 40 °C

b) < - 40 °C

average: < - 40 °C

Neither test run showed a melting endotherm at a temperature greater than - 40 °C (i.e. under the conditions of this test, the test item does not freeze).

As a further check a portion of the test item, in a small vial, was placed in a freezer at a temperature of - 30 °C. It was noted that the sample became viscous but did not freeze at this temperature.

Conclusions:
The test item has a melting point below -40 °C.
Executive summary:

The melting point of the test item was investigated by DSC measurements. The test item has a melting point below -40 °C.
