Test solutions

no
Details on test solutions:
PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION
- Method: The test concentrations were prepared separately for each test vessel (differential loading).
The test substance was homogenized by shaking of the container before test substance was
removed. The test substance was weighed into the volumetric flask and a defined volume of
test medium was added. The test concentrations were stirred (magnetic stir plate) for about 1
hour at 20 ± 2 °C to ensure that the test substance was completely dissolved. The test was
performed in a closed system. All test solutions appeared colourless and clear.
- Controls: media control
- Evidence of undissolved material (e.g. precipitate, surface film, etc): no

Test organisms

Test organisms (species):
Daphnia magna
Details on test organisms:
TEST ORGANISM
- Common name: water flea
- Source: The clone of Daphnia magna STRAUS 1820 used was supplied by the Institut National de Recherche Chimique Appliquée, France, in 1978. From this date on this clone was cultured and bred continuously in the Laboratory of Ecotoxicology of the Experimental Toxicology and Ecology of BASF SE in Ludwigshafen.
- Age at study initiation (mean and range, SD): < 24 h
- Feeding during test: no
