Administrative data
First-aid measures
After contact with skin:
- Take off all contaminated clothing immediately.
- In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with plenty of water.
- Do NOT use solvents or thinners.
- If skin problems persist, seek medical advice.
After contact with eyes:
- In case of eye contact, remove contact lens and rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.
- Summon a doctor immediately.
- Eye treatment by an ophthamologist.
After ingestion:
- Rinse out mouth and give plenty of water to drink.
- Do NOT induce vomiting.
- Summon a doctor immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: water mist, foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide.
Advice for firefighters - Special protective equipment for firefighing:
- Use self-contained breathing apparatus
- Wear full protective suit.
- In case of fire, use acid-resistant equipment / personal protective equipment.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
- In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), phosphorus oxides (eg Phosphorus pentoxide)
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- Wear suitable personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions:
- Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
- Pick up with adsorbent material (eg sand, kieselgur, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).
- Dispose of contaminated material as prescribed.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling - Advice on protection against fire and explosion: No special measures necessary.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities - Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed. Storage: dry.

- Stable.
Possibility of hazardous reactions:
- Reactions with strong alkalies.
- Exothermic reaction.
Conditions to avoid:
- Thermal decomposition
- Conditions for the formation of the toxic anhydride of the substance should be avoided (temperatures > 100 °C in combination with high vacuum over a long period).
Incompatible materials:
- Alkalis
Hazardous decomposition products:
- Flammable gases/vapours.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods:
Product: In accordance with local authority regulations, take to special waste incineration plant.
Uncleaned packaging: Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste.
