Conclusion on classification

Acute toxicity data for White Willow Bark Extract are available for freshwater fish, aquatic invertebrates and green algae.

Due to the low aquatic toxicity, 50% effect values could not be determined, neither for Fish and Daphnia, nor for algae.

Accordingly, under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) there are no classification requirements with regard to acute aquatic toxicity.

Based on the ready biodegradability of the submission substance, there are no chronic classification requirements based on acute data.

Data on algae may be assessed as chronic data. Based on the high EL10 (72 h; Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata; growth rate reduction; nominal loading rates of WAFs) of 54.7 mg/L, no chronic classification requirements do exist also based on evaluation of chronic data.
