Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
First-Aid measures
Eye Contact : May cause irritation. Flush with copious quantities of water
Skin Contact : May cause irritation. Flush with copious quantities of water
Inhalation : May cause irritation of respiratory tract. Avoid inhalation. Remove to fresh air.
Ingestion : Remove from source of exposure. If signs of toxicity occur, seek medical attention. No known specific antidote. Provide symptomatic/supportive care as necessary
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing Media
Suitable: Water spray, carbondioxide, dry chemical powder or appropriate foam.
Hazardous Decomposition Products Unusual fire / explosion hazards: Emits toxic fumes under fire conditions
Special fire – fighting procedures : Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes
Protection of fire-fighters : Wear appropriate NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator, chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles, other protective clothing. Use only in a fume hood.
Accidental release measures
Large Spill and Leak : Vacuum or sweep up material and place into a suitable disposal container
Personal Protection in case of large spill: Splash goggles. Full suit. Boots. Gloves. A self-contained breathing apparatus should be used to avoid inhalation of the product. Suggested protective clothing might not be sufficient; consult a specialist BEFORE handling this product.
Handling and storage
Handling : Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Avoid contact with eyes,
skin and clothing. Avoid ingestion and inhalation.
Storage : Store in a cool, dry place. Protect from light & moisture.
Packing materials: Recommended use : Use original container.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Engineering measures : Use adequate general or local exhaustive ventilation to keep airborne concentrations below the permissible exposure limits. Use Process enclosure, Local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to control airborne levels.
Hygiene measures:
Ingredient Name: 1) : Diltiazem Hydrochloride
Personal protective equipment: Respiratory system : Wear a NIOSH/MSHA or European standard EN 149 approved full-facepiece airline respirator in the positive pressure mode with emergency escape provision.
Skin and body : Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure.
Hands : Wear appropriate protective gloves
Eyes : Wear safety glasses
Stability and reactivity
Conditions to avoid : Stable
Incompatibility with Various Substances : Acids, acid chlorides, acid anhydrides, oxidizing agents
Hazardous Polymerization : Will not occur
Disposal considerations
Method of disposal; Waste of residues : Dissolve or mix the material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an after burner and scrubber. Observe all federal, state and local environmental regulations.
Contaminated Packaging : -NA
Waste Classification : -NA
