Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The log POW value can be reported as: log POW = 6.0

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
6
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The partition coefficient is determined by the shake-flask method (log POW = -2 to 4, OECD Guideline 107) or the HPLC method (log POW = 0 to 6, OECD Guideline 117).

Preliminary tests (non-GLP, not part of this study) indicated that neither method is suitable to determine the partition coefficient of this substance.

As suggested in OECD Guideline 107, the partition coefficient is then determined from the individual solubilities in water and 1-octanol (see also “Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance”, Version 6.0, July 2017, page 74ff).

The 1-octanol solubility of the test item is approximated to 535 g/L following the principles of the preliminary test described in OECD 105.

The water solubility is determined in GLP study to be 0.6 mg/mL.

The partition coefficient of the test item was calculated from the individual solubilities in 1-octanol and water at 20 °C, respectively. The log POW value can be reported as:

log POW = 6.0
