- JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In accordance with Annex IX, Column 2, Section 9.4., terrestrial toxicity testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the results of the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicate the need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or degradation products on soil organisms. The substance is not classified for human health or environment, nor is the substnace considered PBT or vP/vB. Therefore the chemical safety assessment stopped prior to exposure assessment and risk characterisation, in accordance with Annex I of REACH. As such, no screening of terrestrial risk could be conducted using equilibrium partitioning theory, in accordance with ECHA Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment (Chapter R.10). However, for suitably soluble substances, the absence of acute effects observed in aquatic toxicity tests cen be used to support the waiving requirements of Annex IX and X, in addition to the substance not being considered hazardous for human health and the environment.
