- The percentage degradation of the toxicity control (containing both test and reference items) reached 73%. Given that the value seen in the toxicity control is similar to that of the reference item alone (67%), it is unlikely that the test item had a significant effect on the microorganisms ability to utilise the reference item for metabolism.
