Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
In the preliminary test the test item could not be ignited. Based on the results of the preliminary test, no main test was performed.
The test item is considered as a not readily combustible solid of Division 4.1.
Executive summary:

Test System
Form:
The mould, which is made of aluminum, has a length of 250 mm and triangular cross
section with an inner height of 10 mm and an inner width of 20 mm. On both sides of the
mould in a longitudinal direction two metal sheets are mounted as lateral limitations, which
project 2 mm beyond the upper edge of the triangular cross section.
Reaction Plate:
a non-combustible and non-porous plate (floor-tile)
Surrounding Conditions:
The test is performed at room temperature in a laboratory fume hood.
Ignition Source:
flame of a gas burner (blowlamp, with a minimum diameter of 5 mm)
Exposure Time:
until the powder ignites or for a maximum of 2 minutes

Time Measurement:
a stop-watch, able to measure in seconds

Preparation of the Piles
The test item was used in its initial form.
The test item was loosely filled into a mould. Then the mould was dropped three times from
a height of 2 cm onto a solid surface. The lateral limitations were removed and the excess
substance was scraped off.
A non-combustible and non-porous plate was placed on top of the mould. This was inverted
and the mould was removed.

Preliminary Test
The flame from a gas burner was applied to one end of the powder train for 2 minutes. The
burning of the pile was observed. The test was performed twice.

Main Test
Based on the results of the preliminary test no further testing was required.

Results and Conclusion
In the preliminary test the test item could not be ignited. Based on the results of the
preliminary test, no main test was performed.
The test item is considered as anot readily combustible solid of Division 4.1
