Justification for type of information:
No evaluation of the hydrolytic stability of the test item in aqueous media was possible by Method C.7 Abiotic Degradation, Hydrolysis as a Function of pH of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 111 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 13 April 2004. This was due to the absence of a suitable substance specific analytical method with which to evaluate the intact test item chelate.

The test substance shows a very quickly occurring hydrolysis or an alternative transformation mechanism (e.g. ligand exchange) as shown by the results of the solubility study and the detection of the partition coefficient.
It can be assumed that the white translucent hydrated solid precipitate obtained is probably constituted by Ti(OH)4. The organic ligands (Ethyl acetoacetate, Pentane-2,4-diol, Propane-1,3-diol) are well soluble in water. In consequence of the rapid abiotic reaction, the analysis of the hydrolysis of the intrinsic hydrolysis of the substance was technically not feasible.

Description of key information

No evaluation of the hydrolytic stability of the test item in aqueous media was possible. This was due to the absence of a suitable substance specific analytical method with which to evaluate the intact test item chelate.
