Description of key information

The 96-h LC50 of >10 mg/L in zebra fish (Brachydanio rerio), which corresponds to a 96-h LC50 of >5.35 mg/L based on fluoride. The 96-h LC50 of >5.35 mg F/L is used in the assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One GLP-compliant OECD 203 guideline study is available for short-term toxicity in zebra fish (Brachydanio rerio). The test was conducted as a limit test for which the test concentration was based on a previous test with algae (Solvay Pharmaceuticals, 2010a), the concentrations were analytically verified. At the concentration tested (10 mg/L), no mortality and abnormal behaviour was observed. Therefore, a 96-h LC50 value of >10 mg/L was reported (Solvay Pharmaceuticals, 2010a).
