Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Approx 250g of sample was heated in a round bottom flask with the heat source provided from a heating mantle and agitation from an overhead mechanical stirrer with a paddle in the flask. A condenser was used to collect any distillate from the substance with one thermometer measuring the temperature of the test substance and a second thermometer to monitor the condensate temperature.

On heating the sample, a small amount of condensation was seen above the sample at 230°C. At 300°C the test substance became cloudy and at 320°C white smoke and vapours evolved from the sample as it decomposed and the test was terminated.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Temperature of decomposition (state purity):
320 °C
