Under the analytical conditions used, HFE s-601 had a log Koc value of 3.8. The adsorption coefficient was determined to be 6500 L/kg. The log of the dimensionless Henry's Law constant (HLC) was measured as 3.4 at 22 °C. This corresponds to a value of 67 atm∙m³/mol. Given its high volatility, the majority of HFE s-601 released to the environment will reside in the atmospheric compartment.

This conclusion is supported by Mackay level III fugacity modeling, in which essentially all HFE s-601 remains in the atmospheric compartment after to air. A total of <0.005% of material will distribute to soil, water, or sediment.
