Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

EYES: Remove any contact lenses. Wash immediately and abundantly with water for at least 15 minutes, opening the eyelids well. Consult a doctor if the problem persists.

SKIN: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash immediately and abundantly with water. If irritation persists, consult a doctor. Wash the contaminated garments before reusing them.

INHALATION: Bring the subject into the open air. If breathing is difficult, call a doctor immediately.

INGESTION: Consult a doctor immediately. Induce vomiting only as directed by your doctor. Do not give anything by mouth if the

subject is unconscious and if not authorized by the doctor.

Fire-fighting measures

The means of extinction are the traditional ones: carbon dioxide, foam, dust and nebulized water.

Avoid breathing combustion products. The product is combustible and, when the powders are dispersed in the air in sufficient concentrations and in the presence of an ignition source, it can give explosive mixtures with the air. The fire may develop or be further fed by the solid, eventually leaking from the container, when it reaches high temperatures or by contact with sources of ignition.

GENERAL INFORMATIONS

Cool the containers with water jets to prevent product decomposition and the development of substances potentially dangerous for health. Always wear full fire protection equipment. Collect the extinguishing waters that must not be discharged into the drains. Dispose of contaminated water used for extinction and fire residue according to current regulations.

EQUIPMENT

Normal fire fighting clothing, such as an open circuit compressed air breathing apparatus (EN 137), flame retardant (EN469), flame retardant gloves (EN 659) and fire brigade boots (HO A29 or A30).

Accidental release measures

Avoid the formation of dust by spraying the product with water if there are no contraindications. Wear appropriate protective equipment (including personal protective equipment referred to in Section 8 of the safety data sheet) to prevent contamination of skin, eyes and personal clothing. These indications are valid both for workers involved in the work and for emergency operations.

Prevent the product from entering sewers, surface water or groundwater.

Collect the leaked product and place it in containers for recovery or disposal. If the product is flammable, use

an explosion-proof device. Eliminate the residue with jets of water if there are no contraindications. Provide sufficient ventilation of the place affected by the leak. Evaluate the compatibility of the container to be used with the product, checking section 10. The disposal of contaminated material must be carried out in accordance with the provisions of point 13.

Handling and storage

Manipulate the product after having consulted all the other sections of this safety data sheet. Avoid the dispersion of the product

environment. Do not eat, drink or smoke during use. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before

access the areas where you eat.

Keep only in the original container. Store closed containers in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Keep containers away from incompatible materials, checking section 10.

Exposure controls / personal protection

It is recommended to consider in the risk assessment process the occupational exposure limit values foreseen by the ACGIH for the inert powders not otherwise classified (PNOC respirable fraction: 3 mg / mc; PNOC inhalable fraction: 10 mg / mc). If these limits are exceeded, we recommend using a type P filter whose class (1, 2 or 3) must be chosen according to the outcome of the risk assessment.

Considering that the use of adequate technical measures should always take priority over personal protective equipment, ensure good ventilation in the workplace through effective local aspiration. For the selection of personal protective equipment, if necessary, ask your chemical suppliers for advice. The individual protection devices must bear the CE marking which certifies their compliance with the regulations in force. Provide emergency shower with visocular basin.

HAND PROTECTION

If prolonged contact with the product is foreseen, it is advisable to protect the hands with penetration resistant work gloves (see standard EN 374). For the final choice of the work glove material, the process of using the product and any other products deriving from it must also be evaluated. It is also recalled that latex gloves can give rise to sensitization phenomena.

SKIN PROTECTION

Wear work clothes with long sleeves and safety footwear for professional use in category II (see Directive 89/686 / EEC and EN ISO 20344). Wash with soap and water after removing protective clothing.

PROTECTION OF EYES

We recommend wearing tight protective goggles (see standard EN 166).

449/5000

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION

We recommend the use of a P-type filtering face mask whose class (1, 2 or 3) and actual necessity, must be defined according to the outcome of the risk assessment (see standard EN 149).

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS

Emissions from production processes, including those from ventilation equipment, should be monitored for compliance with environmental protection legislation.

Stability and reactivity

There are no particular risks of reaction with other substances in normal conditions of use.

The product is stable under normal conditions of use and storage.

The powders are potentially explosive in mixture with the air.

Avoid accumulation of dust in the environment.

Disposal considerations

Reuse, if possible. Product residues are to be considered hazardous special waste. The danger of the waste that partially contains this product must be evaluated according to the laws in force. Disposal must be entrusted to a company authorized to manage waste, in compliance with national legislation possibly local.

CONTAMINATED PACKAGING

Contaminated packaging must be sent for recovery or disposal in accordance with national waste management regulations.
