Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Column 2 of Annex VII, Section 7.13, the study does not need to be conducted as the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials on the basis of the chemical structure: The substance is organic and does contain oxygen atoms and these elements are not chemically bonded to nitrogen or oxygen.

Description of key information

There are not chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties. The substance contains oxygen but the oxygen is chemically bonded only to carbon and hydrogen.

On the basis of the chemical structure the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data on oxidising properties of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 : Based on the chemical structure the substance is not oxidising.
