Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The EU-REACH information requirements related to the soil organic carbon partition coefficient (Koc) are derogated due to technical inability to measure them. However, estimates of these properties are provided (Table 25 in the Category Justification Document). For the constituents having molecular weight up to approximately 2,500 g/mol, the estimated log Koc values range from 4.5 (for the mMDI substances) to 18.0, indicating a strong affinity of the constituents, and hence the MDI substances, to soil if only an equilibrium partitioning mechanism were involved. A log Koc value of 4.5 is considered for the derivation of the PNECsediment and PNECsoil.
