Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Regarding the P-criterion of PI2080, An OECD 301B (Ready biodegradability, CO2 evolution test) has been performed. Regarding the result of the study, the substance is considered as not ready biodegradable. Therefore the substance is considered as potentially P/vP.

B-criterion of PI2080 has been investigated regarding first the Log Kow value of the substance. In an OECD 117 the log Kow of the substance has been estimated to be as 5.241 - 6.493. The substance is therefore considered as potentially B. However, PI2080 is a reaction mass of cations and anions of nearly 700 g/mol each (603 and 679, respectively). Therefore even if each of them has a molecular weight below 700 g/mol, the sum of both is higher than 1100g/mol which indicates that the BCF is lower than 2000 l/kg. Therefore PI2080 can be considered as non-B/non-vB.

Finally, PI2080 T-criterion is investigated regarding the 2 studies available: OECD 201 (algae) and OECD 202 (Daphnia). None of the results showed effects below 100mg/L. Moreover, the substance is not classified as CMR and no chronic toxicity is expected. Therefore PI2080 can be considered as not-T.

Therefore, even if PI2080 is potentially P/vP, because the substance is non-B/non-vB and not-T, the substance is not considered as PBT/vP-vB.
