85% removal in a municipal waste water treatment plant.

The substance was detected in Swiss waste water treatment plants in a study conducted in 1996.  Concentrations in the influent were between <0.03 mg/l to 0.46 mg/l.  The highest concentration found was associated with a significant input from the textile industry.  An average of 85% removal is observed based on effluent concentrations, for this plant.  For the other plants, the substance could not be detected in effluent.
