First-aid measures

4.1 Description of first aid measures

General advice : Move out of dangerous area.

Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

Do not leave the victim unattended.

If inhaled : If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical

attention immediately.

In case of skin contact : If on skin, rinse well with water.

If on clothes, remove clothes.

If skin irritation persists, call a physician.

Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

In case of eye contact : Remove contact lenses.

In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty

of water and seek medical advice.

Protect unharmed eye.

Keep eye wide open while rinsing.

If swallowed : Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water.

Keep respiratory tract clear.

Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages.

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

If symptoms persist, call a physician.

4.2 Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Symptoms : Skin contact may provoke the following symptoms:

Redness

Ingestion may provoke the following symptoms:

Stomach/intestinal disorders

In case of eye contact

Excessive lachrymation

4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Fire-fighting measures

5.1 Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media : Water mist

Water spray jet

Foam

Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Dry chemical

Unsuitable extinguishing

media

: High volume water jet

5.2 Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Hazardous combustion products

: Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

5.3 Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment

for firefighters

: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting if necessary.

Further information : For safety reasons in case of fire, cans should be stored separately in closed containments.

Use a water spray to cool fully closed containers.

Accidental release measures

6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Personal precautions : Use personal protective equipment.

6.2 Environmental precautions

Environmental precautions : Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform

respective authorities.

6.3 Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Methods for cleaning up : Contain spillage, and then collect with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local

/ national regulations (see section 13).

6.4 Reference to other sections

Handling and storage

7.1 Precautions for safe handling

Advice on safe handling : Avoid formation of aerosol.

Do not breathe vapours/dust.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

For personal protection see section 8.

Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.

Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

Advice on protection against

fire and explosion

: Do not spray on a naked flame or any incandescent material.

Take necessary action to avoid static electricity discharge

(which might cause ignition of organic vapours). Keep away

from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

Hygiene measures : General industrial hygiene practice. Wash hands before

breaks and at the end of workday.

7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storage

areas and containers

: Store in cool place. Electrical installations / working materials

must comply with the technological safety standards. To maintain product quality, do not store in heat or direct sunlight.

Further information on storage stability

: Keep in a dry place. No decomposition if stored and applied

as directed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

8.1 Control parameters

Contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.

8.2 Exposure controls

Engineering measures

Handle only in a place equipped with local exhaust (or other appropriate exhaust).

Personal protective equipment

Eye protection : Wear safety glasses with side shields or goggles.

Hand protection

Material : Nitrile rubber

Break through time : > 480 min

Glove thickness : 0,3 mm

Glove length : Long sleeve gloves

Skin and body protection : Footwear protecting against chemicals

Protective suit

Choose body protection in relation to its type, to the concentration and amount of dangerous substances, and to the specific work-place.

Working clothes must not consist of textiles, which show a

dangerous melting behaviour in case of fire.

Respiratory protection : In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter.

Recommended Filter type:

ABEK-filter

Stability and reactivity

10.1 Reactivity

No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

10.2 Chemical stability

No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

10.3 Possibility of hazardous reactions

Hazardous reactions : Vapours may form explosive mixture with air.

Stable under recommended storage conditions.

10.4 Conditions to avoid

Conditions to avoid : Heat, flames and sparks.

Extremes of temperature and direct sunlight.

10.5 Incompatible materials

Materials to avoid :

Oxidizing agents

10.6 Hazardous decomposition products

No decomposition if stored normally.

Disposal considerations

13.1 Waste treatment methods

Product : Dispose of in accordance with the European Directives on

waste and hazardous waste.

According to the European Waste Catalogue, Waste Codes

are not product specific, but application specific.

Waste codes should be assigned by the user, preferably in

discussion with the waste disposal authorities.

Do not dispose of waste into sewer.

Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with chemical or used container.

Send to a licensed waste management company.

Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and

national regulations.

Contaminated packaging : Empty remaining contents.

Dispose of contaminated packaging as if unused product.

Do not re-use empty containers.
