PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Since no data are available to evaluate carcinogenicity, hence no classification is determined. Based on available data on the target substance itself and its read-across analogues for mutagenicity, reproductive/developmental toxicity and repeated dose toxicity, the substance should not be classified for mutagenicity, reproductive or developmental toxicity or for repeated dose toxicity according to CLP. “Sulfates of potassium, sodium and calcium, by-product from fermentation” is also not classified for the environment. So it is not toxic according to the criteria of Annex XIII.

"Sulfates of potassium, sodium and calcium, by-product from fermentation" is not P/vP, because it is quickly and completely transformed in K+, Na+, Ca++ and SO4(2-) ions. However the ions formed are considered as very persistent. Nevertheless they are not bioaccumulable or very bioaccumulable.

In conclusion the registered substance is very persistent, not bioaccumulable/very bioaccumulable and not toxic, so it is neither PBT, nor vP/vB.
