Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

48-hr EC50, mortality, of MV 31 to Daphnia magna: >91 µg/L (measured) (OECD 202). Loading rate of 4 g/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

MV 31 was studied in a two tests conducted under OECD 202. This substance is volatile and of low water solubility. In the key study, a limit test, nine dead organisms out of 30 were found. However, undissolved material was present in the test vials to maintain stable concentrations of the substance. Eight of the nine dead organisms were trapped at the surface of the undissolved material. The test is unable to distinguish whether mortality was due to toxicity or a physical effect. Another study was disregarded since MV 31 cannot be guaranteed to have been present in test chambers during the test. Test chambers were left open during the test, and MV 31 could not be detected in test solutions at test initiation.
