Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The key ecotoxicity values selected for the registered substance are as follow, in accordance with required data for the tonnage band 1-10 tons per year:

- Aquatic Invertebrates: 48-h EL50 = 0.317 mg test material/L (lowest acute E(L)C50 value)

- Algae: 72-h ErL50 = 2.14 mg test material/L (growth rate).

Those key values have been extrapolated to the registered substance from experimental valid studies performed according to OECD guidelines and under GLP conditions on another alkyl nitrite substance (isoamyl nitrite), following a read-across approach.

Based on these results, the lowest acute E(L)C50 is below 1 mg/L.

CLP Classification proposal

It is proposed to compare submission substance dataset to CLP environmental criteria laid down in CLP Regulation:

- Acute aquatic hazard: category 1. Reasoning: lowest E(L)C50 < 1 mg/L (aquatic invertebrates).

- Chronic aquatic hazard: not classified. Reasoning: adequate chronic toxicity data are not available, lowest acute E(L)C50 value is between 0.1 and 1 mg/L, rapidly degradable substance with Log Kow < 4.
