Comment:

A black residue was observed upon completion of the test. The endotherm observed at 112°C is suspected to be due to the evaporation of water/ solvent and not boiling. The exotherm was suspected to be due to decomposition. A second exotherm was then observed at approximately 423°C, which was suspected to be due to secondary decomposition.

Conclusions:
In a Diffential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) test, conducted according to OECD test guideline 103 and to GLP, a decomposition temperature of 288.12°C was determined for Alfalfa, ext.
Executive summary:

A Diffential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) test, conducted according to OECD test guideline 103 and to GLP, was performed to determine the boiling point and / or the onset temperature and magnitude of any exothermic activity for Alfalfa, ext.

A sample of Alfalfa, ext. was charged to an open aluminum DSC crucible, which was then placed in the furnace. The sample was then ramped from -40°C to 500°C at 10 K/min.

A decomposition temperature of 288.12°C was determined for Alfalfa, ext.
