Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish

Under the conditions of the present study, an aqueous solution of 100 mg/L of the test item revealed no aquatic toxicity in the test system. The 96h LC50 was > 100 mg/L and, thus, could not be determined in this study (reference 6.1.1-1).

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

An aqueous solution of nominal 100 mg/L of the test item revealed no aquatic toxicity in the test system. The 48 hour EC50 for Daphnia magna exceeded the maximum solubility of the test material in reconstituted water (0.006 mg/L) and, thus, was determined > 100 mg/L (reference 6.1.3-1).

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

Under the conditions of the present study, an aqueous solution of nominal 100 mg/L of the test item revealed no toxicity to algae. The 72h EC50 and EC10 for growth rate was > 0.003 mg/L (nominal > 100 mg/L) and, thus, could not be determined in this study (reference 6.1.5-1).

Toxicity to microorganisms

The NOEC of the test item is ≥ 1000 mg/L. The test item caused no inhibiting effects on activated sludge of a municipal sewage treatment plant at the limit test item concentration of 1000 mg/L (reference 6.1.7-1).
