Key result
Parameter:
other: Thermal stability
Remarks on result:
other: exothermal effect below 500 J/g

Two DSC-measurements in closed glass crucibles with the test item showed an endothermal effect in the temperature range of 105-140 °C and an exothermal effect in the temperature range of 370- 490 °C with a maximum energy released of 286 J/g. Above apporx. 480 °C the baseline became ambiguous due to pressure build-up.

Ident-No.

The heat of decomposition was below 500 J/g. Therefore the main test on explosive properties was not necessary.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test item has no explosive properties.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 Method A.10. The thermal stability was determined by DSC measurements. Up to 500 °C no exothermal effects with an energy above 500 J/g were observed. Therefore, the main test on explosive properties was not conducted.

Description of key information

The test item has no explosive properties (reference 4.14-1).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

A study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 Method A.10. The thermal stability was determined by DSC measurements. Up to 500 °C no exothermal effects with an energy above 500 J/g were observed. Therefore, the main test on explosive properties was not conducted.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

Based on the structure of the molecule and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), as amended for the fifteenth time in Regulation (EU) 2020/1182, and UN GHS Rev 8 (2019) the test item has not to be classified with respect to explosiveness.
