- Key result
- Flash point:
- 125.5 °C
- Atm. press.:
- 101.3 kPa
- Interpretation of results:
- other: No category (CLP Regulation EC no. 1272/2008)
- Conclusions:
- The flash point of the test item was determined to be 125.5ºC.
- Executive summary:
In accordance with GLP study and EU A.9 method, the determination of flash point was carried out. The flash point of the test item was determined by the Pensky Martens Closed Cup Method. A preliminary test and two main measurements thereafter were performed. The determined flash point after including a thermometer deviation was 125.4ºC at 101.7 kPa. After correction due to atmospheric pressure the final flash point of the test item was determined to be 125.5 ± 2.6ºC at 101.3 kPa.

(+) – yes, (-) – no
The value of flash point was corrected due to the deviation of the thermometer and atmospheric pressure:
C – determined flash point after including a thermometer deviation = 125.4ºC;
p – ambient barometric pressure = 101.7 kPa.
T = C + 0.25 (101.3 – p) = 125.4ºC + 0.25(101.3 kPa – 101.7 kPa) ≈ 125.5ºC
Measurement uncertainty: 2.6ºC.
Description of key information
Key study: Test method EU A.9. GLP study. The flash point of the test item was determined to be 125.5ºC at 101.3 kPa.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
- 125.5 °C
Additional information
Key study: The determination of flash point was carried out in accordance EU A.9 method with GLP. The flash point of the test item was determined by the Pensky Martens Closed Cup Method. A preliminary test and two main measurements thereafter were performed. After correction due to thermometer deviation and atmospheric pressure the final flash point of the test item was determined to be 125.5 ± 2.6ºC at 101.3 kPa.
