Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

According to ECHA's Guidance on Information requirements and chemical safety assessment, for liquids the primary value for ease of ignition is the flash point. Furthermore, based on experience in handling and use of the test substance it can be excluded that the substance exerts pyrophoric behaviour or flammability on contact with water.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the results of the test on the flash point, the test item is classified as following:

UN Transport Regulation: As the test item has a boiling range of 108 - 111 °C (see Study No. CSL-16-2233.01), (> 35 °C) and a measured flash point of 17.0 °C (<23 °C), it has to be classified in class 3 as flammable liquid of Packaging Group II.

GHS (CLP Regulation EC 1272/2008 Annex 1: 2.6): As the test item has a measured flash point of 17.0 °C (< 23 °C), it has to be classified as highly flammable liquid of category 2 and has to be marked with the warning "H225: highly flammable liquid and vapour".
