Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation
Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Get medical attention if necessary.
Skin contact
Wash with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops.
Eye Contact
Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.
Ingestion
Rinse mouth. Never give anything by mouth to a victim who is unconscious or is having
convulsions. Do not induce vomiting without advice from poison control center. Seek medical
advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media
Water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Unsuitable extinguishing media
Do not use high-pressure water streams.
Special hazards arising from the substance
During fire, harmful gases may be formed. Combustion products include carbon oxides.
Advice for fire fighters
Special protective equipment for fire fighters
Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.
Special fire-fighting procedures
Move containers from fire area if you can do so without risk. Closed containers may rupture when heated. Use standard firefighting procedures and consider the hazards of other involved materials.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment, and emergency procedures
Keep unnecessary personnel away. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Wear
appropriate protective equipment and clothing during clean-up. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing mist or vapour. Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.
Environmental precautions
Avoid release to the environment.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
Stop flow of material if this can be done without risk.

Small spills: Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination.

Large spills: If possible, dike large spills to prevent spreading. Absorb with inert material such as vermiculite, dry sand or earth. Place into containers for proper disposal. Never return spills to original containers for re-use. Following product recovery, flush area with water.

Handling and storage

Precautions for Safe Handling
Avoid contact with eyes. Provide adequate ventilation. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Observe good industrial hygiene practices.

Conditions for safe storage
Provide adequate ventilation. Store away from incompatible materials including strong oxidizing agents.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls
Good general ventilation should be used. Ventilation rates should be matched to conditions. If applicable, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to maintain airborne levels below recommended exposure limits. If exposure limits have not been established, maintain airborne levels to an acceptable level. Eye wash fountain recommended.

Eye/face protection
Wear approved chemical safety goggles. Risk of splashes: Face shield is recommended. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as EN 166.

Skin protection
Hand protection
Wear appropriate chemical resistant gloves during handling. Suitable gloves can be recommended by the glove supplier and should be in line with EN 374.
Body protection
Wear appropriate chemical resistant clothing. Use of an impervious apron is recommended.

Respiratory protection
Ensure adequate general ventillation.

Hygiene Measures
Always observe good personal hygiene measures, such as washing after handling the material and before eating, drinking, and/or smoking. Routinely wash work clothing and protective equipment to remove contaminants.

Environmental controls
Emissions from ventilation or work process equipment should be checked to ensure they comply with the requirements of environmental protection legislation. Fume scrubbers, filters or engineering modifications to the process equipment may be necessary to reduce emissions to acceptable levels.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity
The material is stable and non-reactive under normal conditions of use, storage and transport.
Stability
The material is stable under normal conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions
No dangerous reactions known under conditions of normal use.
Conditions to avoid
Avoid temperature extremes. Avoid contact with incompatible materials.
Incompatible materials
Strong oxidizing agents
Hazardous decomposition products
None known.

Disposal considerations

Residual waste
Dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Empty containers or liners may retain some
product residues. This material and its container must be disposed of in a safe manner.
Contaminated packaging
Since emptied containers may retain product residue, follow label warnings even after container is
emptied. Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or
disposal.
EU Waste code
The Waste code should be assigned in discussion between the user, the producer and the waste
disposal company.
Disposal methods
Collect and reclaim or dispose in sealed containers at licensed waste disposal site. Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations.
