yes

Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
ca. -4.29
Temp.:
40.1 °C
pH:
ca. 10.78
Details on results:
The Log Pow of the test item was calculated using the decimal logarithm of the capacity factor (k). Log Pow was calculated using extrapolation of regression line: log Pow was -4.29.
Repeatability: The values of log Pow derived from individual measurements are within a range of 0.1 log unit, so within the criteria of the OECD 117 guideline.

Deviation to the study plan:

There is no reference substance with a retention time below the test item retention time. The Log Pow measured with an extrapolation of the regression is < 0 (-4.29). Or in the § 8 « APPLICABILITY » of the Study plan (in accordance with the OECD guideline 117) it is clearly indicated: « The HPLC method covers log Pow in the range of 0 to 6. ». The above listed deviation has a major impact on the study conclusion. The Log Pow is estimated < 0 so it is not in the applicability range 0 to 6.

Conclusions:
The estimated Partition Coefficient (Pow) logarithm of 2-aminoethanol hydrobromide is < 0.
An extrapolation of the regression line estimates that the Partition Coefficient (Pow) logarithm is about -4.29. But it is important to note that as described in the guideline OECD 117 §4: “the HPLC method covers log Pow in the range of 0 to 6”. I.e. Deviation n°1.
