Description of key information

The inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced in appropriately low concentrations.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity of (1R,2S)-2,6-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-amine (CAS 752984-24-0) to aquatic microorganisms was investigated in a GLP compliant study performed according to EU-method C.11 using predominately domestic activated sludge as inoculum. Based on the inhibition of the total respiration, a 180-min EC10 of 67.6 mg/L was determined (nominal, analytically verified; Bayer CropScience AG, 2009), indicating that inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not to be anticipated when introduced in appropriately low concentrations.
