Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
From October 27, 2017 to February 27, 2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:

Key result
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions

Endothermic activity was observed at approximately 104°C which is believed to be decomposition. The sample continued to track the oven temperature for the duration of the test. On completion of testing a black solid residue remained.

Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, no self autio-ignition of the test substance was observed.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the relative self-ignition temperature of the test substance, according to the EU Method A.16, in compliance with GLP. Endothermic activity was observed at approximately 104°C, which was believed to be decomposition. The sample continued to track the oven temperature for the duration of the test. On completion of testing a black solid residue remained. Under the study conditions, no self-ignition of the test substance was observed (Chilworth, 2018).

Description of key information

Relative self-ignition temperature for the test substance was determined according to EU Method A.16 (Chilworth, 2018).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No self-ignition observed; the test substance was found to decompose at approximately 104°C.
