Description of key information

Hydrolysis:

The test item was considered hydrolytically stable at pH 4 and 7 with a half-life of > 1 year for environmentally typical temperatures.

Biodegradation in water:

The test item is not readily biodegradable with 15.5 to 22 % biodegradation observed over 28 day.

Adsorption / desorption:

The log Koc of the test item is 2.995, corresponding to a Koc of 1069.75 L/kg at 20ºC.

Henry's Law constant:

The Henry's Law constant was calculated to be 5.91 Pa m3/mol (Bond Contribution Method) and 1.46 Pa m3/mol (Group Contribution Method) at 25 ºC.

Additional information

Environmental fate endpoints are completed for the test item based on test data following standard guidelines or data waivers. All data are therefore considered to be reliable and relevant for the endpoint concerned.

Hydrolysis of the test item was determined in a study according to OECD Guideline 111 and EC Method C.7 (2015). The test item was considered hydrolytically stable at pH 4 and 7 with a half-life of > 1 year for environmentally typical temperatures. The test item showed moderate hydrolysis (t1/2 ≤ 30 d) at pH 9, 50 °C. At pH 9, 20 and 30 °C only a slow hydrolysis (t1/2 > 30 d) was observed.

Biodegradation of the test item was determined in the two reliable studies, reporting 15.5 (1996) to 22 % (2015) biodegradation over 28 days. Based on the data available, the test item is considered to be not readily biodegradable.

The Koc of the test item is 665.5 L/kg and the log Koc is 2.823, based on an experimentally determined log Kow of 3.55. Based on the molecular connectivity index, the Koc was 1474 L/kg and the log Koc was 3.1686. Using the mean of the results from the log Kow and MCI method, the Koc was determined to be 1069.75 L/kg and the log Koc was 2.995.

This endpoint was estimated by the QSAR model KOCWIN v2.0 (2010).

The Henry’s Law constant were estimated using the QSAR model HENRYWIN v 3.20 available in EPI Suite (2010). The Henry's Law constant of the test item was calculated to be 5.91 Pa m3/mol (Bond Contribution Method) and 1.46 Pa m3/mol (Group Contribution Method) at 25 ºC.
