Justification:

The substance is potentially persistent, as two ready biodegradation studies have determined that the substance is not readily biodegradable, demonstrating 22 and 15.5% degradation after 28 days. The substance is not bioaccumulative as it has a measured logKow value of 3.55 which is less than the value of 4.5 set out in the screening criteria. The substance is unlikely to be toxic based on acute ecotoxicity data.

Overall, the substance is potentially P, not B and not T, according to acute aquatic toxicity and repeat-dose mammalian toxicity data on the read-across substance, 4 -methyl-4 -phenylpentan-2 -ol. The substance is not PBT or vPvB.
