Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Flammability
Administrative data
- Endpoint:
- flammable solids
- Data waiving:
- study scientifically not necessary / other information available
- Justification for data waiving:
- the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Cross-reference

- Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Name Sulfuric acid, reaction product with alumina
Batch no. SSA-SD 0239
Appearance white powder
Composition reaction product of sulfuric acid with alumina,UVCB
CAS No. 1093112-19-6
EINECS-No. not applicable
Purity 100 %
Homogeneity homogeneous - Key result
- Water solubility:
- ca. 252 mg/L
- Conc. based on:
- test mat.
- Temp.:
- 20 °C
- Remarks on result:
- other: concentration of Aluminium in water
- Key result
- Water solubility:
- ca. 518 mg/L
- Conc. based on:
- test mat.
- Temp.:
- 20 °C
- Remarks on result:
- other: concentration of Sulphur in water
- Details on results:
- At the plateau, the concentration of Aluminium in water had reached
252.1 ± 9.8 mg/L Al at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C
= 2.521 ± 0.098 * 10-1 kg/m3 (SI units)
(mean value ± standard deviation of six individual vessels, nominal load 50 g/L)
The concentration of Sulphur in water had reached
517.7 ± 24.7 mg/L S at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C
= 5.177 ± 0.247 * 10-1 kg/m3 (SI units)
(mean value ± standard deviation of six individual vessels, nominal load 50 g/L)
A partial solubility of the test item was observed due to the release of different ions from the test item (0.50 % Al and 1.04 % S, calculated from the nominal load of 50 g/L).
No Tyndall effect (i.e. a laser beam was not scattered when transmitted through the liquid) could be observed indicating that no colloidal dispersed particles are present.
The measured aluminium and sulphur concentrations showed good correspondence in all flasks. Therefore, all replicates were used in the calculation of the mean. - Conclusions:
- Test item is poorly soluble: Aluminium reached 252 mg/L and Sulphur 518 mg/L (at 20°C)
