Additional information

No experimental data are available for of 2-[2-(dimethylamino)ethoxy]-N-methylethanamine (TMAEE, CAS 93240-93-8). Therefore, the assessment of toxicity of the substance to fish was based on the available experimental read-across data for a structurally similar substance BDMAEE (CAS 3033-62-3):

In a GLP study, conducted according to OECD 203, Danio rerio were exposed to the substance for a period of 96 hours. The test was performed under semi-static freshwater conditions. As the substance causes a light pH-shift to more alkaline conditions with increasing test substance concentrations, the highest test solution (1000 mg/L) was also tested after pH-adjustment. However, the pH-adjustment in the additional 1000 mg/L group did not decrease the mortality rate over 96 h. In this study, the 96‑h LC50 was found to be 131 mg/L, based on unbuffered test solutions (nominal, [56]). Analytical monitoring demonstrated that the substance was stable over the exposure period.

Based on the available experimental read-across data, TMAEE (CAS 93240-93-8) is concluded to be with high probability acutely not harmful for fish.
