The thermograms of the DSC runs PN15834 and PN15839 are shown in Figure 2 and Figure 3, respectively. In the temperature range of 200 – 270 °C the test item showed an exothermic effect with a mean energy release of -140 J/g. The test item showed an endothermic effect in the temperature range of 460 – 490 °C.

During the heating an exothermic effects was detected. No melting or boiling was detected of the test item.

Conclusions:
No melting point of the test item was observed up to its decomposition starting from 200°C.
Executive summary:

The melting point of the test item Hydrogen [4-[[4-diethylamino)phenyl][4-[ethyl[(3-sulphonatobenzyl)amino]-o-tolyl]methylene]-3-methylcylohexa-2,5-dien-1-ylidene](ethyl)3-sulphonatobenzyl)ammonium, sodium salt was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry method according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.1., OECD Test Guideline 102 (1995), EPA OCSPP 830.7200 (1998) and CIPAC MT 1 (2009). No melting point up to its decomposition starting at a temperature of approx. 200 °C was determined.

Description of key information

The melting point of the test item was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry method according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.1.and OECD Test Guideline 102 (1995). No melting point up to its decomposition starting at a temperature of approx. 200 °C was determined.
