Additional information

No experimental data on the toxicity to algae of Mochon roh are available. In order to assess the short-term toxicity potential of the test substance, the read-across data for three representative constituents of the substance.

In a 72- hour acute toxicity study, the cultures of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were exposed to CAS 150 -76 -5 in accordance with the OECD guideline No 201. This GLP study was conducted under static conditions. The 72-h EC50 was 54.7 mg/L based on growth rate and the 72-h NOEC was 2.96 mg/L (measured initial concentrations, 2008, ECHA disseminated data).

Based on the results of this study, the substance is considered to be acutely harmful to aquatic algae.

A GLP study was performed with CAS 13482-23-0 in accordance with the OECD guideline 201. According to this static study a 72-h EC50 value was determined to be higher than 100 mg/L and the NOEC was 100 mg/L. (measured, ECHA, disseminated data). Therefore, the substance is considered to be acutely not harmful to aquatic algae.

The reaction mass of 4-methoxyphenol and 4-methoxy-cyclohexanone and 4-methoxy-cyclohexanol (EC 947-389-1; Mochon roh) is a mixture of 4-methoxycyclohexanone (CAS 13482-23-0), Mequinol (CAS 150-76-5) and there is no experimental data for the substance itself. Therefore, the assessment is based on the available read-across experimental data for its constituents. According to these data Mochon, roh is considered to be acutely harmful to aquatic algae.
