The test material appears to give a broad endotherm with more than one onset value, this could be due to the multi-component nature of the test material.

The melting point will be reported as the range of the onset values obtained for the leading edge and main peak endotherms:

Melting point 1 37.8 - 40.6°C

Melting point 2 51.4 - 65.4°C

Conclusions:
The melting point is reported as the range of the onset values obtained for the leading edge and main peak endotherms:
Melting point 1 37.8 - 40.6°C
Melting point 2 51.4 - 65.4°C
Executive summary:

The melting point of 1,1"-isopropylidenediferrocene was investigated using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), this study is assigned a reliability score of 1 in accordance with the criteria for assessing data quality set forth by Klimisch et al (1997).

The test material appears to give a broad endotherm with more than one onset value; the melting point is reported as the range of the onset values obtained for the leading edge and main peak endotherms:

Melting point 1 37.8 - 40.6°C

Melting point 2 51.4 - 65.4°C

Description of key information

The melting point of 1,1"-isopropylidenediferrocene was investigated using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The test was conducted in accordance with the procedure described in EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A1 and OECD Test Guideline 102 and assigned a reliability score of 1 in accordance with the criteria for assessing data quality set forth by Klimisch et al (1997).

The test material ,1,1"-isopropylidenediferrocene appears to give a broad endotherm with more than one onset value; the melting point is reported as the range of the onset values obtained for the leading edge and main peak endotherms:

Melting point 1 37.8 - 40.6°C

Melting point 2 51.4 - 65.4°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
37.8 °C

Additional information

The melting point is reported as the range of the onset values obtained for the leading edge and main peak endotherms:

Melting point 1: 37.8 - 40.6°C

Melting point 2: 51.4 - 65.4°C
