Additional information

The target substance is a hydrolytically unstable organotitanate with hydrolysis half-life less than 30 minutes (Borica, 2016). The identified hydrolysis products include triethanolamine and zirconium dioxide, which is an inorganic substance.

Zirconium dioxide is a solid precipitate which is not classified as hazardous to human health or to the environment. As an insoluble precipitate, it is also lacking bioavailability, and therefore not relevant to be considered further in CSA.

On the basis the rapid hydrolysis, the intrinsic properties lie in the degradation products.

Biodegradation & Bioaccumulation
The organic component of the hydrolysis product - Triethanolamine was found readily biodegradable (West 1996) and highly water soluble. Bioaccumulation is not expected.
