Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
auto-ignition temperature (liquids)
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
other:
Justification for type of information:
According to hydrolysis test results, the hydrolysis rate is estimated to be within 30 minutes. The hydrolysis products have been identified to be triethanolamine and zirconium dioxide.
The target substance was a highly viscous liquid (dynamic viscosity c.a. 27000 mPa.s at 25°C), the vapour pressure was expected to be very low.
Testing would record the results of the key degradation products which are relatively volatile, including triethanolamine.
Endpoint:
auto-ignition temperature (liquids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
data from handbook or collection of data
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: not specified
GLP compliance:
not specified
Key result
Auto-ignition temperature:
ca. 324 °C
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 atm
Conclusions:
The self-ignition temperature of triethanolamine is 324°C according to literature.
